Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Depart from Kampala by road to Murchison Falls National Park. You will stop in Masindi town for lunch then proceed to the magnificent falls. You will drive to the top of the falls where the Nile perfects its beauty.
Here you will see the calm Nile forcing its self through a narrow gorge to fall a distance of about 150 ft down producing a thunderous roar of white water- beautiful scenery! Check the series of cascades it forms, which can be viewed at different points up to the culmination.You will then be transferred to board the jetty and cross the river to your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in the northern circuit of the park with rolling plains where you can view Lions, Giraffe, Hartebeest, Buffalo and Elephant as well as many of the other mammals of the park. For the birders, these areas support the Secretary Bird, Black Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny and Marshal Eagles Carmine and Swallow Tailed Bee-Eaters, to pick just a few.
This is a beautiful drive across Borassus Palm Forest and grassland savannah down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north to the Sudan.
In the afternoon, go for a boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls where the Nile thunders through a small 7-meter gap, or down river to the delta where the Nile empties into Lake Albert.
This is an experience not to be missed! The banks of the Nile are home to many species. You may see huge Nile Crocodiles, big Pods of Hippos and other wildlife that may come down to drink from the river. Transfer back to your accommodation for diner and overnight.
Day 3: Murchson Falls National Park – Kampala
After breakfast, cross the river to transfer to Budongo forest for Chimpanzee tracking tour and a nature walk (optional activities) before you embark on your journey back to Kampala reaching in the evening.
