Where Wild Rivers Meet the Great Plains of Uganda
Deep in Uganda’s western wilderness lies Queen Elizabeth National Park, a land where vast savannahs meet shimmering lakes, and wildlife gathers along the ancient Kazinga Channel. This 3-day journey takes you into the very soul of Africa—where elephants march across golden plains, hippos wallow in muddy banks, and lions stretch lazily in the dawn light.
From standing on the Equator to cruising among crocodiles, this safari invites you to experience Uganda’s iconic landscape and its wild inhabitants up close. And if you seek a brush with our closest primate cousins, you can track chimpanzees in the sun-dappled forests of Kyambura Gorge. A perfect escape for lovers of wildlife, storytelling, and unforgettable views—come discover the magic that roams freely here.
Cross the Equator, Chase the Horizon
Your safari begins early in the morning from Kampala, heading southwest through rolling countryside. En route, you’ll pause to witness the art of traditional Royal Drum makers and stop at the Equator—stand in both hemispheres at once for a perfect photo moment! The journey winds through lush banana plantations and the cattle-dotted lands of the Ankole people. Arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park, check in to your lodge, and unwind with dinner as the sun sets over the distant Rwenzori Mountains.
From Lion Tracks to Nile Waters
Rise at dawn for a morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains, prime hunting grounds for lions and leopards. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, hyenas, warthogs, antelopes, and the elusive leopard. Return to the lodge for lunch, then take a relaxing boat cruise along the famous Kazinga Channel—where crocodiles sunbathe, elephants splash at the shores, and a vibrant array of marine birds graces the banks. This stretch of water is home to some of the highest hippo concentrations in Africa. After your river safari, return to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.
Rainforests, Chimps & Farewell to the Wild
After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive en route to Kyambura Gorge—a lush, green ravine home to a small population of wild chimpanzees and other primates. (Chimp tracking is optional and can be arranged in advance.) After your trek, begin the journey back to Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive back in the capital in the evening, with unforgettable memories in hand.
