Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Settle into the rhythm of this vibrant capital city—peaceful, clean, and brimming with stories waiting to be discovered. Dinner and overnight stay.
A Journey Through Memory and the Green Hills Beyond
After breakfast, embark on a guided city tour of Kigali. Begin at the Kandt House Museum, explore old Kigali and local crafts markets, and pay tribute at the powerful Genocide Memorial Centre—a moving and deeply human place of remembrance. Learn how Rwanda’s heart broke—and how it healed.
Following lunch in Kigali, journey north through picturesque hillsides, banana groves, and terraced farmlands en route to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri (approximately 2.5 hours). As evening falls, settle into your lodge at the edge of the forest.
For a cultural touch, enjoy an optional performance by Intore traditional dancers—a vibrant display of Rwanda’s living heritage (available at extra cost).

Into the Mist: Face to Face with the Great Apes
After an early breakfast, depart at 06:20 hrs to the park headquarters. Following a detailed trek briefing at 07:00 hrs, you’ll be assigned a gorilla family based on your fitness level and guided to the trailhead.
The trek begins in cultivated fields before immersing you in the lush, vine-draped rainforest of the Virunga Mountains. As birds call overhead and distant branches rustle, your expert trackers will lead you through this living cathedral—until, suddenly, there they are: a gorilla family, in the dappled light of the forest.
You’ll spend one powerful hour in their presence, observing silverbacks, mothers, and playful youngsters in a truly intimate encounter.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch. The afternoon is yours to relax or explore—perhaps take an optional visit to the nearby twin lakes of Ruhondo and Bulera.

After lunch, begin your return journey to Kigali, a scenic 2.5-hour drive past coffee and tea plantations and the iconic “land of a thousand hills.” Upon arrival in the city, you’ll be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
