Gateway to the Southern Wilderness
Your journey begins as you leave the bustle of Dar es Salaam and head west toward Mikumi National Park. After a short safari briefing, continue on through scenic landscapes to arrive in time for lunch at Vuma Hill Tented Camp or Mikumi Wildlife Camp. This afternoon, set off on your first game drive—buffalo, giraffe, elephant, wildebeest, and the occasional lion await. Return to camp for a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the savannah.
Into the Heart of Wild Tanzania
After an early breakfast, begin your scenic road transfer to Ruaha National Park, passing through highlands and local villages. Stop for lunch in Iringa before continuing into the park for a short introductory game drive. Your home for the next two nights is Ruaha River Lodge, perched above the Great Ruaha River. Soak in sweeping views from the elevated bar and dining area as the sun dips below the horizon.
Raw, Remote & Rich in Wildlife
Spend the day immersed in Ruaha’s rugged beauty. With its dramatic baobab-studded landscapes and a deep sense of seclusion, this is classic Africa—unspoiled. Game drive across vast plains in search of sable antelope, kudu, elephant herds, lions, and crocodiles lurking in the Ruaha River. A picnic lunch in the bush gives you more time to explore. Overnight again at Ruaha River Lodge.
The Long Game Drive Back
Enjoy one last morning game drive in Ruaha before beginning your journey back to Mikumi. With a picnic lunch en route, arrive in the late afternoon and settle in at Vuma Hill Tented Camp or Mikumi Wildlife Camp. Share stories around the campfire and relive the magic of Ruaha's wild soul.
One Last Look
After breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive in Mikumi before heading back to Dar es Salaam. The safari ends with your arrival in the city—refreshed, inspired, and full of stories.
