Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

History, Healing & Highlands
After breakfast, explore Kigali’s soul with a guided city tour—visit the Kandt House Museum, browse local crafts, and walk through the solemn Genocide Memorial Centre. Here, you’ll witness Rwanda’s remarkable transformation from tragedy to triumph.
After lunch, journey northwest through hills draped in banana groves and mist-kissed farmlands. By early evening, arrive at Volcanoes National Park, the gateway to gorilla territory.
Dinner and overnight at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking – Lakes Ruhondo & Bulera

Golden Whispers in the Forest
Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing. Today’s trek takes you in search of the rare and energetic golden monkeys, endemic to the Virunga Mountains. Watch them leap through bamboo thickets and play among the treetops—an enchanting experience.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic visit to Lakes Ruhondo and Bulera, where the calm waters reflect the volcanoes above.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Lake Kivu

The Greatest Hour on Earth
An early start leads to a life-defining moment. After a safety briefing and group allocation, trek into the forest with expert guides. Follow trails of trampled leaves and whispering calls until you find them: a gorilla family, relaxed and regal in their home.
You’ll spend an unforgettable hour observing them eat, interact, and rest—an emotional, humbling encounter you’ll carry forever.
After lunch back at the lodge, drive west to Lake Kivu, arriving in time for sunset.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.

Day 5: Lake Kivu – Kibuye – Nyungwe Forest National Park

From Lakeside Calm to Canopy Mysteries
After breakfast, travel south along the lake to Kibuye, a serene town with stunning lakeshore views. Stop for lunch and visit Home St. Jean, a memorial church bearing witness to Rwanda’s past.
Continue on to Nyungwe Forest National Park, arriving by late afternoon. The road winds through misty mountains and tea plantations—truly one of Rwanda’s most scenic drives.
Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking – Tea Plantation Walk

Waking the Forest
At dawn, set out into the Cyamudongo forest, where the calls of wild chimpanzees guide you through dense foliage. Your guide will help you spot not only chimps, but also rare bird species and colorful butterflies.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a leisurely walk through the tea plantations, watching locals pluck fresh leaves from emerald hills.
Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge.
