In the afternoon, cruise the Rufiji River—home to massive hippos, lurking crocodiles, and a kaleidoscope of birdlife. As the sun sets, return to your elevated tent at Rufiji River Camp, perfectly perched with sweeping views across the plains. Enjoy dinner under the stars.
Wake up in the heart of one of Africa’s best-kept secrets. With over 54,000 km² of wilderness (larger than Denmark!), Selous offers big-game viewing in near solitude. Spend the full day on game drives in search of elephant, buffalo, lion, giraffe, wild dog, and more. Fewer vehicles, more freedom. Tonight, return to camp for a candlelit dinner and a night surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
This morning, set out on foot with a professional guide for a walking safari—a rare opportunity to connect deeply with the landscape. Track prints, learn the language of the bush, and feel the thrill of being part of the ecosystem. After lunch and a bit of rest, head out once more for an afternoon boat safari on the Rufiji, where wildlife drama unfolds along the water’s edge. Overnight at the camp.
After breakfast, take in the last views of the river before your transfer to the airstrip. Fly back to Dar es Salaam, carrying memories of wild moments and tranquil luxury only Selous can offer.
